A Circle of Friends
Produced in
1997
By its tenth year, the FWBO was alive with energy, vision, and struggle. In squats and fire stations, in Croydon coops, Glasgow flats, and Indian retreat sites, men and women pushed the limits of community, practice, and friendship. This film captures the joy and hardship of those years—men and women each forging independence, pioneers travelling overseas, and friendships tested in the crucible of work and meditation—as the dream of a new Buddhist society begins to take shape.
